Candice Myers
Just a few truths about
CANDICE MYERS

"I think it's Impossible to truly minister to people without relying on and drawing from your own personal experiences. That is what your heart knows, and having some kind of testimony for Christ, no matter what that is, is what makes us able to minister to all. My music ministry is from my heart, and I'm included in It, which means so is my past, present, and future, good and bad. The good and positive things in my life reveal God's generosity, and the bad, or negative things reveal His grace." * - Candice Myers, February 2000

Candice was born into a rodeo/ranching family in Kansas. Her grandparents owned a large working ranch in western Kansas and her father traveled the rodeo circuit. By the age of three, Candice's grandparents had passed away, her parents were divorcing and she made a move to the city - Dodge City, Kansas - where her mother would struggle for the next couple of years to raise Candice and her baby brother alone. When she was five, God brought a wonderful man into their lives, who Candice's mother would eventually marry, and, along with his two daughters and a daughter they would later have together, they began what is today referred to as the "blended family",

Candice's biological father came in and out of her life in those early years and Candice and her brother would travel the rodeo circuit with him during the summers. It was at this time that Candice was exposed to 'more real life than a kid should ever see'. Some of those early experiences were painful and difficult to overcome but through the love and support of those closest to her and with an inner strength provided by God, she can now testify openly about that time and has even written a song, "Fly, Angel, Fly", that is on her first CD.

Candice was exposed to music at a very early age when she began piano lessons at age five. She was singing professionally by the age of twelve. She went to college on a music scholarship and used these talents along with her strong vocal ability to help her become Miss Kansas in 1988, She went on to compete in the 1989 Miss America pageant. This opportunity enabled Candice to truly develop as a performer and gave her the desire to pursue a career in the entertainment field. This burning desire would eventually turn into the music ministry that the Lord had in mind for her from the beginning.

In 1991, Candice made the decision to put down roots in Texas as her second home and this is where she lives today with her husband, Rope, their two sons, Layton and Holden and daughter Tierney. Rope is the 2001 World Champion Steer Wrestler for the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association). The couple has combined the opportunity of Rope's travel schedule and Candice's musical talent to become very involved with the numerous Christian Cowboy organizations. Candice frequently provides worship music and concerts for rodeo church services across the country.

And this ministry continues to grow today. In February 1999, Candice released her first album, 'Beyond the Temporary', which produced three top 5 Christian Country radio singles. Her second album, 'Straight and Narrow' released in January of 2001, and includes three top 5 singles, including the song, "The Blood", which was the #1 CCRB song in October 2003. Her latest project, "Through the Window", is receiving critical acclaim in Christian Country and mainstream circles. Candice is a three-time nominee for the CCMA's Female Vocalist of the Year. As a new artist this has been a strong affirmation of the message Candice strives to convey in her Music. It's an industry where the focus is not just on the charts or album sales but on the ministry and call you have received from God. Candice's comfort and ease in all situations, with all kinds of people have enabled her to minister in a very personal way, whether on stage in front of hundreds or one-on-one with someone God has placed in her path.
